You are free to do as you please but your recruiter will explain to you that working with multiple agencies can potentially prohibit you from landing that perfect placement. New Grads

Of course! Especially with Advanced Medical. We paved the way for “new grad travel” with our ever growing University Program that offers layers of support to new grads wanting to travel right out of school. With this program, you will receive a clinical mentor, unlimited access to online CEU’s, tuition reimbursement, and our recruiters will make sure that first placement is “new grad friendly”. This means that there will likely be another person of your discipline on staff. We rarely, if ever, have new grads say “I wished I had waited to travel”. But we have a lot of experienced travelers say “I wished I had done this sooner, or right out of school”.

New graduates are eligible for exceptional benefits through Advanced Medical's New Grad Program. These include things like tuition reimbursement, mentorship and continued education opportunities.

New graduates have access to Advanced Medical's mentorship program that includes special mentors for SLP, OT and PT. In addition, we also offer mentors with experience directly related to Advanced Medical.

Schools

Depends on the situation. If you are applying for a position that doesn’t start for a couple months, then no. If you are applying to an ASAP start position, then yes.

This depends on the state and the district. Some schools simply need for you to have a state board license. Others will require a special teaching certificate. Don’t worry if the certificate takes a long time to be conferred as many schools/states will allow you to work with a pending teaching certificate! Your recruiter and QA specialist will serve as your guides when it comes to navigating licensure questions. We have the answers!

Longer contracts with far lower likelihoods of a notice. All those school holidays you looked forward to as a kid? You will get those days off while on contract with us!

It depends on the opening. Sometimes a district has enough of a caseload in one building that you will be there for the course of your entire contract. Other districts may need you to float from one building to another. In situations where you need to float during the day, we will try to arrange for you to stay on the clock during the travel time from building to building.

Remember that favorite teacher you had when you were in grade school. That could be you! The impact you have on these children is truly amazing. At the end of the school year, you will be looking forward to your next school assignment in the next amazing location.

Of course not. We have many therapists who work in schools during the school year and then take medical assignments during the summer. The advantage to working with Advanced Medical is that you have the ability to look at jobs in so many varied settings.

Not at all. We see openings in all geographic areas. Sure, some of them are super rural or in quiet, out of the way towns. But other jobs exist in urban areas as well.

Benefits / Compensation

Absolutely. You can work in one spot as a traveler for up to 12 months before you are considered local. During the course of your school year assignment, you qualify for all the travel stipends you would receive while on a shorter medical assignment.

You are paid on a weekly basis.

Per diem is a daily allowance to cover the various costs when traveling.

Travel therapists are offered benefits similar to those of a permanent job, and are even better because they start on day 1. Compensation for travel therapists is also typically better than their permanent counterparts.

Travelers earn different pay depending on their individual placements, but typically travelers earn more than Permanent Therapists.

No, you don't need to bring your housewares with you. Advanced Medical provides fully furnished housing, however you are free to bring with you whatever you choose.

Yes! We have many travel pairs on assignment all across the nation. Any combo will work, but trust your recruiter’s suggestions on location. You may have to be flexible with location and setting in order to travel with a friend/partner/spouse/etc.

Yes, housing really is free. Advanced Medical provides a fully furnished home for it's travel therapists. In addition, if you would like to make arrangements for housing on your own, Advanced Medical offers a generous housing allowance.

There is nothing contractually binding you to Advanced Medical for your long term travels (outside of the individual 13 week contract). We gain loyalty through trust and excellent customer service. As long as you are traveling, we want it to be with us! A positive experience is imperative to that happening, so you can pretty much guarantee you will be taken care of on contract with AMPS.

Before your assignment is over, your recruiter will begin discussing available options with you. If an extension is offered, you may choose to accept that as well. If you want to take a vacation, your recruiter will help you plan your assignments accordingly so you have plenty of freedom and flexibility.
