See for yourself why so many travel speech therapists love Ohio
The Buckeye State isn't as well known for it's geographic and cultural diversity as it should be. From the shores of Lake Erie to the Appalachian Plateaus or the Ohio River to the Central Lowland, Ohio's geography is underrated. All along the shores of Lake Erie there are countless recreational activities. Some of the best aren't even in the Cleveland or Toledo areas, but Sandusky. There are countless adventures that you don't know about and you wont truly understand them until you visit. Come see why the state is celebrated as such a great destination for travel SLP positions.
How Much Do SLPs Make in Ohio?
Speech-Language Pathologists have great earning potential in Ohio. Every major market in Ohio has below average cost of living. The less populated areas have even lower cost of living. Average salaries for SLPs in Ohio are on par with the national average. Several sources show slightly different statistics. However, this is for good reason. Sites like Indeed track hiring data which can skew toward entry level salary ranges. Other sources of salary data come from surveys and the bureau of labor statistics. These numbers tend to be more accurate for industry averages. The number one factor that affects salaries is experience. Entry level SLPs working in Ohio could earn anywhere from $45,000/yr to $55,000/yr while senior level SLPs could earn from $90,000/yr to $115,000/yr. These ranges are based on several sources averages rather than relying on only one source of information. Travel school SLPs tend to earn less than other settings. This is because you don't get to work several months out of the year. That either allows you to take a summer travel assignment to earn even more than your counterparts or take the summer off to enjoy yourself. The choice is yours and either option has its benefits.
