Advanced’s New Grad Program: 2016 Year In Review
From Anaheim, to Omaha, to Buffalo, Advanced’s New Grad Program lit up the map in 2016. Under the leadership of Melissa Jones MS, CCC-SLP, the program hit all the big national shows in Allied Health and beyond. The APTA Combined Sections Meeting (CSM) and National Student Conclave (NSC), the ASHA Convention, the AOTA Conference and NSC-you name it and Advanced was there talking with the budding therapists of our great nation!
Beyond the Big Shows
Although Advanced invests in the educational and progressive value that all the national shows in Allied Health provide, we treasure the ability to meet with PT, OT, and SLP students on their campuses. These smaller scale platforms allow for sincere dialogue and relationship building. We participated in career fairs and hosted lunch and learns around the country. It was an awesome experience getting to answer all the questions of students who are concerned about transitioning from the classroom to the real world!
Advocacy in 2016
Every year, Advanced makes a point to play an integral role in the advocacy that takes place within the field of Allied Health. Hill Days in OT, PT, and SLP are a fundamental part of making sure that these necessary health services are accessible for those who need it. We were there this year, speaking with our country’s representatives and we can’t wait till next year!
Breaking the Mold
Advanced has always made it a point to be truly innovative. Our programs lead the industry in domains such as teletherapy and telesupervision, and in 2016 we added a new ‘tele’ to our lineup. This year we started performing teleconference lunch and learns with students, allowing us to answer more questions from students across the board.
This year has been awesome; bring on 2017!
