Recruiter Spotlight: Joe Beach
We’re starting 2018 by featuring a rockstar recruiter with a passion for his family, music, and being a reliable resource to his travel therapists. Based in our FL office, Joe Beach is intensely organized and with 3 therapists in his immediate family, knows the therapy industry through and through. When he’s not doing activities with his family or recruiting, Joe spends his days practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (he’s a black belt!), weightlifting, or skateboarding.
Meet Joe Beach
What do you love about your job?
I’m a people-person so I enjoy the ability to work with so many talented therapists all over the country. My travelers aren’t just a number to me and I’ve found great fulfillment in my relationships with all of them. I have 3 therapists in my immediate family (Wife, Sister and Sister-in-law) who’ve all had bad experiences with Recruiters; I love being a professional and experienced resource for therapists who deserve a great travel experience.
What makes you unique as a recruiter?
I’m a very hard-worker and extremely organized. Also, I truly care about my therapists which gives me a high level of passion for my role as a Recruiter.
What’s your favorite traveler story?
I talked on and off for over a year with a therapist from a rural area who only wanted a 50 mile radius of her hometown. I was as honest as possible regarding my inability to be a resource to her as a Travel Recruiter. Over time we developed a Relationship and she finally stepped out of her comfort zone to start traveling. It was not only a financially beneficial decision but it also allowed her to experience all of the amazing things that happen outside of her hometown. She loved it! She traveled for several years and eventually settled down in an area that I placed her as a traveler. She is still in this location presently and is married with 2 children. Every time we talk she thanks me for the role that I had in her personal and professional life.
Do you have any advice for new grad or seasoned travelers?
If you think you might love travel, you will! Get ready to make some memories and become a storyteller. Set your expectations at a realistic level, be flexible when necessary and selective when you are able.
How do you spend your time when you’re not recruiting?
I’m a proud husband and father of 2 kids. My family is the light of my life and most of my free time is spent doing family activities. I’m a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, avid weightlifter, skateboarder and runner. My wife and I love music so we try to attend as many concerts as possible; our highlight from last year was seeing Mumford and Sons in Orlando. We plan to take our kids to all 50 states, so we are constantly planning our next travel adventure.
